Abstract

The spectral-kinetic characteristics of industrial YAG: Ce phosphors excited by laser radiation in the range of 4 - 6.415 eV and electron beam with an energy of 250 keV were studied. It was shown that upon laser excitation at 193.3 nm (6.415 eV), electron-hole (e-p) pairs are created in the matrix in the same way as under the influence of electron beam. All types of excitation lead to the appearance the luminescent band in the region of 560 nm due to Ce3 + ions, as well as UV bands at 320 and 360-380 nm. The appearance of UV luminescence is associated with luminescence centers associated with intrinsic lattice defects. The possible processes of energy transfer to luminescence centers under optical excitation in the range of 4 - 6.415 eV are discussed.
