Radproc: Eine GIS-kompatible Python-Bibliothek zur Auswertung von Radarniederschlagsdaten

Abstract

Starkregen sind ein räumlich und zeitlich sehr variables Phänomen und können Auslöser für Sturzfluten, Bodenerosion oder Landrutschungen sein. Der Deutsche Wetterdienst stellt mit seinen RADOLAN (Radar-Online-Aneichung) – Produkten räumlich und zeitlich hoch aufgelöste Radarniederschlagsdaten – zum Teil auch kostenlos – für Deutschland zur Verfügung, allerdings erfordert die Verarbeitung der großen Anzahl an Dateien im Binärformat zwingend eine zeitaufwendige Einarbeitung und Programmierkenntnisse. Die frei verfügbare Python-Bibliothek radproc soll die Verarbeitung und Auswertung verschiedener RADOLAN-Produkte sowie den Export in ArcGIS vereinfachen. Radproc ermöglicht u.a. die automatisierte Rohdatenverarbeitung, die Bildung von Niederschlagssummen und –statistiken sowie die Identifikation von Starkregen über beliebigen Schwellenwerten und stellt zudem eine umfangreiche Schnittstelle für den Datenaustausch mit ArcGIS bereit.
