This article addresses the theme of social assistance surveillance, which is one of the functions of the Social Assistance Policy, integrated together with the functions of defending rights and social protection. The research presented here aimed to analyze the advances, challenges and perceptions about the implementation and implementation of social assistance surveillance in municipalities in the State of Piauí. The investigation and discussion on Social Assistance Surveillance, the product of a master's dissertation in public policies, becomes relevant for the academic and professional community, as it contributes to the deepening and improvement of theoretical-methodological and technical-operative knowledge in this area. During the study carried out, the contribution of socio-assistance surveillance to the planning and execution of the activities of the Social Assistance Policy was identified in line with the demands of vulnerability and social risk identified in the study's focus territories.

Este artigo aborda como temática a vigilância socioassistencial, uma das funções da Política de Assistência Social integrada juntamente com as funções de defesa dos direitos e de proteção social. A pesquisa aqui apresentada teve por objetivo analisar os avanços, os desafios e as percepções acerca da implantação e implementação da vigilância socioassistencial em municípios do Estado do Piauí. A investigação e discussão sobre a Vigilância Socioassistencial, produto de dissertação de mestrado em políticas públicas, torna-se relevante para a comunidade acadêmica e profissional, à medida que contribui para o aprofundamento e aprimoramento do conhecimento teórico-metodológico e técnico-operativo nessa área. Identificou-se, durante o estudo realizado, a contribuição da vigilância socioassistencial para o planejamento e execução das atividades da Política de Assistência Social em consonância com as demandas de vulnerabilidade e risco social identificadas nos territórios foco do estudo.
