Abstract

In this paper we consider the effect of direct current and the rotation of the consumable electrode in electroslag remelting on the mechanical properties of melted metal in both as-cast and deformed state. It is shown that keeping the electroslag remelting on the direct current with rotation of the consumable electrode does not reduce the mechanical properties of the resulting metal, in spite of the fairly significant increase in productivity of the process without summing up extra power.
