The purpose of this study is to determine the environmental ethics approaches and awareness levels of Biology teachers. The population of study is comprised volunteer Biology teachers working in public secondary school in 2018- 2019 academic year in Ankara. As the data collection tools of current study, “Information Forms’’, “Ecocentric , Anthropocentric and Antipathetic Attitudes towards Environment’’, “Environmental Ethics Awareness Scale’’ had been implemented to Biology teacher . In the analysis of the research, SPSS program package was employed. The results of study shows that ecocentric approaches are above the average, anthropocentric approaches of their near the average and theirs antipathetic approaches below the average. Also the awareness of the definition of environmental ethics and measures to be taken against environmental problems, cause of the appearance of environmental ethics and the purpose of environmental ethics is above the average. It has been detected that ecocentric and antipathetic attitudes show no difference according to gender but anthropocentric attitudes show suggestive difference. But none of them show any difference according to Professional experience. It has been detected the definition of environmental ethics, cause of the appearance of environmental ethics and measures to be taken against environmental problems show no difference according to gender but the purpose of environmental ethics show suggestive difference. And also none of them show any difference according to Professional experience. There is a positive connection between the ecocentric attitudes and the purpose of environmental ethics and cause of the appearence of environmenral ethics and also between the anthropocentric attidudes and the definition of environmental ethics. Between the antipathetic attitudes and the definition of environmental ethics, the purpose of environmental ethics, cause of the appearence of environmenral ethics, there is negative connection

Bu çalışmada Biyoloji öğretmenlerinin çevre etiği yaklaşımlarının ve farkındalık düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmadaki çalışma grubu 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılında devlet liselerinde çalışan gönüllü Biyoloji öğretmenlerinden oluşmaktadır. Biyoloji öğretmenlerinden verilerin toplanması amacıyla “Bilgi Formu’’, “Ekosentrik, Antroposentrik ve Çevreye Yönelik Antipatik Tutum Ölçeği’’ ve “Çevre Etiği Farkındalık Ölçeği’’ uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde sosyal bilimler için istatistik programı olan SPSS kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, Biyoloji öğretmenlerinin ekosentrik tutumlarının ortalamanın üstünde, antroposentrik tutumlarının ortalamaya yakın ve çevreye yönelik antipatik tutumlarının ise ortalamanın altında olduğu; çevre etiğinin tanımı ve çevre sorunlarına karşı alınacak önlemlerde, çevre etiğinin ortaya çıkış nedenleri konusunda ve çevre etiğinin amacı konusunda farkındalıklarının yüksek düzeyde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ekosentrik ve çevreye yönelik antipatik tutumlar cinsiyete göre farklılaşmazken antroposentrik tutumun anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği; meslek yılına göre ise tutumlarda farklılaşma olmadığı görülmüştür. Çevre etiğinin tanımı, ortaya çıkış nedenleri ve çevre sorunlarına karşı alınacak tedbirler alt boyutlarında cinsiyete göre anlamlı bir fark bulunamamakla birlikte çevre etiğinin amacına yönelik anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmiştir. Meslek yılına yönelik bir farklılaşma kaydedilmemiştir. Biyoloji öğretmenlerinin, ekosentrik tutumları ve çevre etiğinin amacı ve çevre etiğinin ortaya çıkış nedenleri arasında pozitif yönde, antroposentrik tutumları ile çevre etiğinin tanımı arasında pozitif yönde, çevreye yönelik antipatik tutum ile çevre etiğinin tanımı, amacı, ortaya çıkış nedenleri ve çevre sorunlarına karşı alınacak önlemler arasında negatif yönde bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür
