Se estudian unas páginas de cuadernos manuscritos inéditos, que documentan la transición desde el arte abstracto hasta el nacimiento del realismo sacro de Camilian Demetrescu (1924-2012). El viaje a España (1979) induce a Demetrescu a reflexionar sobre su continuidad en el arte abstracto; busca respuestas a través de las geometrías del arte islámico, descubre los símbolos del arte románico fijando su atención en los iluminadores mozárabes del Comentario al Apocalipsis de Beato de Liébana. El viaje concluye en la abadía de san Antimo (Italia): el encuentro con una crucifixión del siglo XII determinará el inicio del nuevo paradigma del artista.
