
Against the background of the invigoration of political life in our country and all over the world in the past few years, research on political culture and values has gained great popularity in Russian and Western science. Fundamental theoretical discussions of the question of changing political values in the developed industrial countries have revolved around a theory offered by the American sociologist Ronald Ingelhart in his 1977 book, Silent Revolution, which has been further elaborated in his numerous articles and in his new book that came out in 1991, Cultural Shift in Advanced Industrial Society [1].
