A Determinação Social da Malária: Um Estudo de Caso na Epidemiologia Hospitalar

Abstract

A malaria configura-se em um grave problema de Saude Publica que afeta, sobretudo populacoes menos favorecidas socialmente. O presente estudo teve como objetivos: reconhecer a realidade objetiva da malaria por meio da investigacao dos casos notificados no Servico de Epidemiologia Hospitalar de um hospital escola do municipio de Curitiba. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva-documental. Para sua realizacao foram utilizados os dados contidosno Sistema Nacional de Agravos de Notificacao Obrigatoria (SINAN), as fichas de Investigacao Epidemiologica e prontuarios dos individuos acometidos por malaria e notificados no periodo de 1° janeiro de 2003 e 30 de novembro de 2010 no cenario estudado. A coleta de dados foi realizada no mes de novembro de 2010, e sua analise baseada em estudos realizados por Egry (1996) e Breilh (1989). Os objetivos do estudo foram alcancados e acredita-se que a inclusao de informacoes qualitativas as investigacoes epidemiologicas contribui significativamente nas acoes de promocao da saude, prevencao e controle da malaria. A partir disso, a epidemiologia critica e capaz de melhorar seu processo de analise ao considerar que os determinantes de saude podem ser influenciados pelos processos da saude na dimensao estrutural, particular e singular de determinacao do processo saude-doenca vivenciado pelas populacoes.
