Abstract

ArabiXiv (Arabic Science Archive) is a new and free preprint server for publishing and archiving scholarly knowledge in Arabic in the various scientific fields, including but not limited to agriculture, biology, chemistry, education, engineering, health, physics and social sciences. ArabiXiv is the first preprint/open science repository in Arabic. It combines the advantages of preprint servers and peer review in terms of rapidity of publication and screening for quality to address the scarcity of Arabic scientific content on the web. The manuscripts undergo an initial and general evaluation to provide authors with recommendations and comments that can help them improve their manuscripts before and/or after publication. Arabixiv accepts all kinds of scientific contributions (experimental studies, theories, reviews, opinions, letters, etc.) mainly in Arabic but manuscripts in English, French or other languages can also be considered. Preprint servers offer an efficient way to disseminate scientific knowledge to increase the discoverability and transparency of publications, and to establish priority of ideas and scientific methods against scooping through publication date stamps.
