A sandstone microscopical images dataset of He-8 Member of Upper Paleozoic in Northeast Ordos Basin

Abstract

There are abundant natural gas resources in the upper Paleozoic in the northern Ordos Basin, and he 8 member is the main gas producing layer in Sulige gas field. However, at present, the related research of He 8 member mainly focuses on core, logging and seismic, and the fine study of outcrop of He 8 member is still rare, especially the systematic study of microscopic and microscopic characteristics of sandstone. Based on the field survey of outcrops in the periphery of Ordos Basin, the Tianshengqiao section in fugu, Yulin, which has the same provenance as the He8 member of Sulige gas field and has a relatively consistent sedimentary environment, is selected for field survey, description and intensive sampling. The rock types, structural characteristics, mineral composition, diagenesis and other aspects are systematically studied, and a complete sandstone microscopic image set is classified and sorted out It is expected to provide valuable basic data for the study of sandstone characteristics and controlling factors of high-quality reservoirs in the upper Paleozoic of the northern Ordos Basin.
