The training workshop on the Data Management Expert Guide (DMEG), organised by the Portuguese Archive for Social Information (Arquivo Portugu��s de Informa����o Social - APIS), was held on 6 November 2019 in Lisbon. The main goal of the workshop was to explore the research data lifecycle using the DMEG tool provided by the CESSDA Training Team by using training materials developed by the CESSDA Trainers. The DMEG tool helps researchers follow best practices, namely by developing their data management plans and by showing them how to make their research data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable). Compliance with the FAIR Principles is important as it has implications for research data management and data depositing at APIS.
