SummaryThe role of the costimulatory molecules B7‐1 (CD80) and B7‐2 (CD86) in T‐cell activation makes them good candidates for coeliac disease susceptibility genes. We conducted a genetic linkage study of the CD80/86 gene region in the general Finnish population and in a local subisolate. No linkage was found in either population.
