La lengua materna del 60 % de la población marroquí es el árabe marroquí y no el árabe clásico, mientras que el resto habla alguna de las tres variantes del amacige. El uso de la lengua materna en la educación es una de las recomendaciones de la Unesco, algo que no ocurre en el país vecino y que ayudaría a que el sistema educativo se desarrollara aún más y descendiera el índice de analfabetismo. En este artículo reflexionamos sobre la necesidad de que se reconozca al árabe marroquí como lengua y que ésta sirva de instrumento para la educación.AbstractThe mother tongue of 60% of the Moroccan population is Moroccan Arabic and classical Arabic, while the rest speak any of the three variants of amacige. The use of mother tongue in the educational system is one of the recommendations of Unesco, which doesn´t happen in the neighbor country and would help to be developed further the educational system and could help to decreased the illiteracy rate. In this article we reflect the need of recognition of the Moroccan Arabic as a language and as a tool for education.
