Abstract

Los trastornos de la eyaculacion forman parte de los trastornos sexuales mas frecuentes en el varon. Van desde la eyaculacion precoz a la eyaculacion retardada, cuyo grado extremo es la aneyaculacion, pasando por la eyaculacion retrograda. Por lo general, la respuesta sexual se conceptualiza en varias etapas interactivas : el deseo, la excitacion, el orgasmo y la resolucion. Durante la actividad sexual, los niveles crecientes de excitacion sexual permiten alcanzar un umbral que desencadena la respuesta eyaculatoria que, en el varon, tipicamente, termina el episodio sexual. Aunque la funcion eyaculatoria es indispensable para la supervivencia de la especie, no lo es para el individuo. Desde un punto de vista evolucionista, se puede pensar que el orgasmo acoplado a la eyaculacion permite garantizar mejor esta perpetuacion de la especie humana. Sin embargo, en el curso de la evolucion ha disminuido la importancia y la influencia de las hormonas y de las feromonas sobre el comportamiento sexual. Por el contrario, la importancia de las recompensas se ha hecho mas importante. En el ser humano, el objetivo del comportamiento sexual ya no es el coito vaginal sino la busqueda de los placeres eroticos, sobre todo del orgasmo, procurados por la estimulacion del cuerpo y de las zonas erogenas. Es por ello por lo que generalmente el varon modula y retrasa su eyaculacion. Si, durante estos ultimos anos, el estudio de las disfunciones sexuales se va interesando mas por la disfuncion erectil, los conocimientos sobre los trastornos de la eyaculacion tambien han progresado; se apoyan en el enfoque experimental basado en una organizacion estructural anatomica comun en los mamiferos a los cuales pertenece el ser humano.
