Abstract

Presentation des resultats de l'atelier sur la Liberte intellectuelle et les bibliotheques : aspects internationaux tenu a Berlin le 18 janvier 2002 ; il met en relation l'etat de la liberte intellectuelle et des bibliotheques avec le travail du Programme fondamental de l'IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) sur la liberte d'acces a l'information et la liberte d'expression (FAIFE). L'article decrit les objectifs du FAIFE, ses activites prioritaires et connexes pour 2001-2003 et ses resultats, en illustrant par des exemples d'actions concretes de FAIFE menees lorsque la liberte intellectuelle est en peril. Une des tâches du FAIFE consiste a rassembler l'information sur la situation globale de la liberte d'acces a l'information ; la collection de rapports intitules IFLA/FAIFE World Report Series constitue en ce sens une importante source d'information. Enfin, la collaboration etroite avec l'IFLA au sujet de la politique du developpement est evoquee, avec l'Internet Manifesto et d'autres initiatives en exemples.
