AbstractIn this article we will do an approach to the question of the existing relation between language and identity in Morocco. We will, specifically, analyze the identitarian process as a component of the linguistic question and of the debate about linguistic policy in this country. We will focus our analysis object in discursive terms, to that end we will analyze three types of speeches: the monarchic discourse of the earlier times (Hassan II), the actual monarchic discourse (Mohammed VI), and the alternative amazigue discourse. In these three discursive formations we will study how the value, represent, build and legitimize the national identity, linguistically as well as socio-culturally and how much this identity construction generates a socio-linguistic conflict. This conflict also generates political and social confrontation and even economically, in the political level due to the fact that the cause of confrontation is the linguistic state policy. We will follow the critic-descriptive socio-linguistic the linguistic policy, the critical discourse analysis, specially in its historical discursive approach as methodological and theoretical framework for developing our analysis.
