The genetic constitution of inbred mouse strains was determined to verify that the name of each strain was in accordance with its genetic constitution. By repeated control no difference was observed, but it was found that the 129-strains differ from the nomenclature. In addition, the strains of Polish origin were characterized and their specific genetic constitution of antigenic markers make them very useful in immunological studies.
