Animation of the lowest 0.5 elevation scan for radars in the path of totality. Scans at Radars KLSX, KPAH, KHPX, KOHX and KCAE coincide in time with totality, radars KGSP, KRIW and KLNX do not. Each panel displays a 100x100 km area around the radar. Time stamps give the time difference in seconds with the moment of peak totality. Scans during totality show the word totality in brackets after the radar name. Activity of aerial biological scatterers decreases in the period leading to totality; however a short burst of activity is visible in radars KLSX, KPAH, KHPX, KOHX during the moment of totality.
