Galvanic Cathodic Protection of a Blast-Furnace Gas Pipe against Corrosion at the “Novolipetsk Integrated Iron-and-Steel Works”

Abstract

The investigation of an inside local corrosion of a blast-furnace gas pipe is reported; the corrosivity of dust slurry is revealed. A version of galvanic cathodic protection with anodes made of an Al–Zn alloy is suggested. In laboratory conditions, it enables one to attain a protective effect of 85%.
