Abstract

Die Behandlung praearthrotischer Deformitaten (X-Bein, O-Bein, usw.) verhutet unter Umstanden sekundare Arthrosen oder mildert ihre Neigung zur Progredienz. Eine eigentliche, causale Behandlung gibt es aber noch nicht. Da das Wesen der A. def. biochemisch in der Abnahme der Mucopolysaccharide besteht, hat man versucht, Chondroitinschwefelsaure zuzufuhren, in gewissem Sinne also eine Substitutionstherapie zu betreiben. Die Ergebnisse waren aber fragwurdig. Dem behandelnden Arzt bleibt deshalb nicht viel mehr als die Bekampfung der Symptome und die Verhutung von Kontrakturen. Diese Behandlung ist im allgemeinen konservativ und kann sich nach einer grosen Skala von Moglichkeiten richten, die personlichen Erfahrungen weiten Raum last. Hier ist allerdings oft eine gewisse Polypragmasie unverkennbar.
