
This deposit contains the archived release of ATAS – Academic Text Analysis System (SATA – Sistema de Análise de Textos Acadêmicos) submitted for review to the Journal of Open Source Software (JOSS).The package includes the complete source code, documentation, examples, and the accompanying paper.md and paper.bib.ATAS is an open source software tool designed to support textual content analysis, with emphasis on Natural Language Processing (NLP) for Brazilian Portuguese. It integrates functionalities for lexical filtering, bigram extraction, gender identification, and statistical analysis of academic texts, inspired by the content analysis method of Laurence Bardin.The software is implemented in Python and used in research groups in Human Geography and Digital Humanities. This archived version ensures reproducibility and provides a stable reference associated with the DOI minted for the JOSS submission.
