Managing Big Data: A Research on Adoption Issues

Abstract

Abstract The adoption of big data presents significant challenges for managers and organizations, which has precipitated increased research on the effective utilization of big data. In order to successfully adopt big data, the organization must ensure its managers are on board with the changes because the support of the managerial staff of the organization can be associated with the adoption of new technology. The purpose of this quantitative study, thus, was to investigate factors related to the use of big data by managers and decision-makers whose organizations have adopted, or are considering adopting, big data. The results of this study showed that the three constructs of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and attitude toward use had a strong correlation to actual use and the behavioural intention to use big data.
