Passiflora no auxílio da ansiedade e depressão

Abstract

O gênero Passiflora abrange diversas espécies que são estudadas para fins medicinais, sendo que algumas delas se destacam no tratamento de ansiedade e depressão. O objetivo deste trabalho consiste em avaliar os efeitos ansiolíticos e/ou antidepressivos de espécies do gênero Passiflora. Trata-se de uma revisão sistemática, em que os artigos foram identificados através de pesquisas em bases de dados virtuais, como: Scielo, Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, ScienceOpen. Foram encontrados 445 artigos, publicados entre 2015 e 2022, nos idiomas português, inglês e espanhol, dos quais 8 se enquadravam com o tema proposto. Os resultados mostraram que as espécies Passiflora incarnata, P. edulis, P. salpoense e P. Tenuifila apresentaram atividade farmacológica nos efeitos ansiolíticos e antidepressivos, e quando comparados aos medicamentos midazolan, nortriptilina, fluoxetina e diazepam obtiveram efeitos semelhantes.
