Using optical microscopy, evaluation of the ohmic resistance of oil layers in tribocontact, and tribological studies, the results of the influence of the particle size of soft rocks of the serpentine group: antihorites, lizardites, and chrysotiles on the anti - wear properties of liquid lubricants-LUKOIL Standard 10W40 mineral oil and synthetic Castrol SLX 5W40. The optimal size of serpentine particles is 3…5 microns. The inefficiency of serpentine modification of Castrol SLX 5w40 synthetic oil is proved based on the results of wear intensity testing and measurement of the ohmic resistance of the oil layer in tribocontact.
