Noctilio leporinus (Linnaeus 1758) Distribution. From Mexico southward Guianas, Trinidad, Greater and Lesser Antilles, Bahamas, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil, northern Argentina, and Paraguay. In Brazil it occurs in the states of Amazonas, Amapá, Bahia, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo (Reis et al, 2007). Habitat. This species is primarily eating fish, inhabiting tropical lowland habitats and roosting over ponds and quiet streams, estuaries of major rivers, bays and lagoons along coastlines (Hood & Jones 1984).In the present study, three specimens were collected near in a sandy portion of the edge of the São Domingos River (12° 54’ 50.8” S, 47° 34’ 0.7” W), in Paranã, TO, and in front of a weir (13 o 36’ 29.2” S, 46 o 46’ 39.3” W) in São Domingos, GO. Voucher specimens. Six females – CHUNB 1199, 1200, 1201, 1202, 1203, and 1204; three males – CHUNB 1198, 1218, and 1219.
