Context This report contains climatic suitability maps of freshwater and terrestrial alien species under current (2001-2025) and future (2026-2050) climates in Europe, based on the A1FI (fossil fuel intensive) scenario from the IPCC Special Report on Emissions Scenarios (SRES). The maps are based on Köppen-Geiger climatic zones and also depict a calculated standardized potential occupancy under those climates. In addition to climatic suitability maps, the report also includes maps displaying the current occupancy of the species based on GBIF data. Applications The maps were used within the framework of a horizon scan for potential invasive species relevant to the European territory. This expert elicitation exercise was supported by the data driven approach for species selection outlined in this report. The maps can be useful for future horizon scans or to explore the distribution of the species.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
