SummaryThe influence of polymorphisms in the CIITA and IL‐6 genes on donor‐specific human leucocyte antigen antibody production was investigated in a cohort of renal transplant recipients and their donors. CIITA and IL‐6 single nucleotide polymorphisms were found to be associated with donor‐specific human leucocyte antigen antibody production post‐transplantation.
