New considerations about the dating of Wep-wawet relief from Lisht

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar uma nova datação para o relevo de Wep-wawet proveniente de Lisht, atualmente no Metropolitan Museum of Art, baseado em um diversificado conjunto de elementos da cultura material e de cunho iconográfico com os quais uma comparação indica a elaboração dessa imagem durante a 3.a dinastia. Fundamentando o presente estudo em uma análise diacrônica e sincrônica da arte do Antigo Reino, chegamos à uma datação anterior àquela apresentada por Hans Goedicke em seu trabalho sobre as imagens dos blocos encontrados em Lisht.
