Abstract

En los últimos años se ha constatado un impulso de estudios sobre los elementos discursivos del texto (tono, pausas, etc.), que defienden la necesidad de trabajar estos componentes de la competencia comunicativa oral para mejorar la comprensión de los textos leídos en voz alta. Por lo tanto, con el objetivo de estudiar las pausas como elementos que estructuran el discurso, en este estudio se computan los tipos de pausas, se identifican algunos aspectos a trabajar, y por último, se especifica el peso de algunas variables como la lengua materna, el género y la procedencia en la realización de las pausas dentro de estructuras indivisibles. Para ello, se ha realizado un experimento mediante un texto periodístico, leído en voz alta, sobre un corpus de 100 informantes vascos bilingües con edades comprendidas entre los 18 y 25 años, y estudiantes de las Escuelas de Magisterio de la UPV/EHU. Del estudio estadístico de los datos se concluye que los tipo de pausas más empleados por los jóvenes lectores son las silenciosas (%) y (V%), que la posición de las pausas a menudo es incorrecta y que las lenguas maternas influyen significativamente en este hecho.
