Abstract

Das Internetprotokoll in der Version 4, auch als IPv4 bekannt, ist das wichtigste Protokoll der Internet-Vermittlungsschicht. IPv4 ist ein Protokoll mit umfangreicher Funktionalitat und kann heute als Basis des Internets betrachtet werden. Es wird in die Vermittlungsschicht (Schicht 3 gemas ISO/OSI- bzw. Schicht 2 gemas TCP/IP-Referenzmodell) eingeordnet. Alle Nachrichten hoherer Protokolle werden uber IPv4 gesendet.
