Considering their medicinal uses1-8 , three species of this genus, i.e. Sida acuta Burm., S. veronicaefolia Lam. and S. rhombifolia Linn. have been selected in order to find out the active constituents of these plants against some gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria,
