Abstract

La Colección de Mamíferos depositada en el Museo de La Salle (MLS) cuenta con información de 2.540 ejemplares, colectados principalmente en Colombia (27 departamentos), así como especímenes de otras partes del mundo (África, Estados Unidos, Rusia, Australia). Los registros se encuentran identificados en 10% a nivel de género, 84 % a nivel de especie, 3% s nivel de supespecies y 3% a categorias superiores. Representada por 18 ordenes (Monotremata, Diprodontia, Peramelemorphia, Didelphimorphia, Paucituberculata, Cingulata, Pilosa, Hyracoidea, Eulipotyphla, Chiroptera, Carnivora, Perissodactyla, Artiodactyla, Cetacea, Primates, Rodentia, Lagomorpha). Las colectas de los ejemplares provienen principalmente de Norte de Santander, Cundinamarca, Meta, Tolima, Caquetá entre otros, las cuales fueron realizadas en su mayoría por los Hermanos Lasallistas desde 1893.
