We publish the memoirs of Commissar of the Provisional Government P. M. Makarov, who was responsible for transporting Nicholas II and his family from Tsarskoye Selo to the city of Tobolsk. These ego-documents shed light on how the Provisional Government prepared this secret operation, and also contain some new information about the life of the Romanovs in exile in Tobolsk. In addition, P. M. Makarov describes his meeting with the former personal dentist of the Russian Royal family, S. S. Kostritsky, who also visited the Romanovs in Tobolsk exile.
