The Bird collection at the UMZM consists of over 6000 specimens, including more than 5100 bird skins and 600 bird skeletons, as well as frozen tissues, spread wings, eggs and nests. The majority of specimens were collected from 1900 to the present and emphasize avian biodiversity of the Northern Rocky Mountains.
