Abstract

La Colección de peces de la Universidad Católica de Oriente CPUCO representa uno de los depósitos de especies ícticas más completos en el departamento de Antioquia albergando más de 18973 ejemplares representados en 15 órdenes 73 familias 334 géneros y aproximadamente 233 especies reconocidas y representativas de todo el territorio nacional. Documenta especímenes para más de 11 macro cuencas colombianas y un aproximado de 72 cuencas y más de 465 localidades La colección CPUCO pretende ser un referente de información de calidad para la comunidad científica facilitando los procesos de validación y descripción de nuevos reportes de especies con una visión regional abierta a la comunidad científica mundial.

En este recurso se presentan 3168 registros colectados entre 2006 y 2017 en los países de Panamá y Colombia. Para Colombia se cuenta con ejemplares de 14 departamentos, siendo los ordenes Characiformes y Siluriformes los más representativos.
