Abstract

This document contains the results from an intensive chemical sampling study of Strawbridge Lakes in Moorestown, Burlington County. Water chemistry sampling studies conducted under the Department of Environmental Protection's Lake Management Program determined approximately 30% of New Jersey's lakes to be eutrophic. A program of more extensive sampling was recommended to establish the extent of eutrophication in New Jersey's lakes, and to determine viable management strategies for improvement of water quality. This document details results from Strawbridge Lakes, one of the 25 priority lake systems identified for further study. The report states that Strawbridge Lakes is experiencing accelerated eutrophication, with deleterious cultural and environmental impacts. It proposes a plan of extensive in-lake restoration and watershed management for long and short term relief.
