The Mammals Collection of the Museum of Natural History was founded in 1989 and is represented by mammals of many parts of Guatemala. The database of this collection contains 4, 443 records corresponding to 27 families 94 genera and 150 species. The best represented orders are Rodentia, Chiroptera and Artiodactyla. The collection includes specimens prepared in different ways: skin and skull, skin and skeleton, only skin, only skull, bone remainders and fluid preserved individuals.
