Abstract

O Ensino de enfermagem vive na actualidade um dos períodos do seu processo evolutivo onde o debate se impõe de forma profunda, mobilizando os actores, os contextos e os saberes ao longo das diferentes épocas numa abordagem que é suportada em dois pressupostos organizadores: 1 - Um, em que reflectimos numa perspectiva sócio-histórica sobre a evolução da educação em enfermagem em Portugal, por referência à segunda metade do século XX e início do século XXI, reportando-nos essencialmente a um conjunto de factos que caracterizam a década de 90 e o início do século XXI. 2 - Outro, em que consideramos de forma integrada, este período como um espaço transicional de análise, que nos permite reflectir sobre se, na actualidade o ensino de enfermagem vive uma mudança de paradigma ou se estamos perante um paradigma em transição. Posicionamo-nos manifestamente na segunda perspectiva. Recorremos ao modelo transicional, como metodologia de análise sócio-histórica do fenómeno. Finalizaremos partilhando alguns aspectos para reflexão, no âmbito das perspectivas de desenvolvimento do ensino de enfermagem, mobilizando para o efeito os constrangimentos advenientes essencialmente das incertezas com que o presente e o futuro se nos apresenta. * Artigo baseado na conferência proferida no dia 5 de Dezembro de 2008, no âmbito das Comemorações do dia da Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa.
