Impacto de la procrastinación en la productividad del gerente

Abstract

Se presenta una revisión teórica sobre los elementos procrastinadores como factores que afectan la productividad organizacional. La procrastinación consiste en postergar las actividades que el gerente ejecuta para optimizar su gestión en el ente organizacional; esta situación anómala solo brinda soluciones momentáneas, tangenciales para afrontar el contexto problemático de la gestión de la productividad ínsitu, de los tiempos y el comportamiento laboral de los individuos. Inicialmente, se describen las variables que se han tomado para el desarrollo de este trabajo; seguidamente, se abordan las teorías sobre los elementos de la procrastinación y su asociación con la productividad organizacional; finalmente, se presenta la perspectiva sobre este patológico comportamiento y sus implicaciones. El propósito de esta investigación documental es presentar y contrastar un conjunto de elementos teóricos sobre las variables para la comprensión de esta actividad proporcionando alternativas para la misma. Además, puede ser utilizada como marco referencial para el desarrollo de futuras investigaciones. Para dar contexto teórico este estudio se sustentará en los postulados de (Steel, 2007), (Akinsola, 2007), (Reyes, 2012), entre otros. Se concluye que las organizaciones requieren el desarrollo de las competencias necesarias para desvincular el comportamiento procrastinador que afecta sustancialmente la productividad laboral. Se recomienda realizar la difusión de la información a su personal y aplicar estrategias que les permitan orientarse al éxito organizacional.
