Sexo y género en la contienda identitaria del deporte. Propuesta de un debate sobre la competición deportiva multigénero

Abstract

Este artículo cuestiona las estructuras sexistas del deporte de competición cuya expresión más represen- tativa es la segregación en modalidades masculinas y femeninas. Teniendo en cuenta la importancia del de- porte en la construcción de la subjetividad, se valora la repercusión que tiene dicha segregación como disposi- tivo biopolítico de la identidad individual de género. Se toma como referencia la normativa de los organismos deportivos internacionales sobre la verificación del gé- nero, de aplicación a deportistas mujeres, y se indaga en el proceso de configuración bipolar del deporte. Se analizan los argumentos que impiden un cambio de mentalidad y de estructuras y se plantea, a título explo- ratorio, un debate sobre la posibilidad de transformar el deporte de competición en una práctica multigénero.
