Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the tissue response of rat subcutaneous tissue implantation of polyethylene tubes filled com CPM® (Portland Cement Modified) compared with Angelus MTA ®. These materials were placed in polyethylene tubes and implanted into dorsal connective tissue of rats by 7,15,30,60 and 90 days. The specimens were prepared to be stained with HE, Von Kossa staining or without starning for polarized light. It were performed qualitative and quantitative analysis of reactions inflammatory. CPM materials ® and Angelus MTA ® caused a moderate reaction in the experimental period of 7 days decreased with time. The response was similar between control, CPM® and Angelus MTA ® in the experimental time of 30 days. At 60 and 90 days all groups were similar to control. Mineralization and granulations birefringent to polarized light were observed with all materials. It was possible that CPM® presented similar tissue response to Angelus MTA ® Iinduding with mineralized tissue stimulation
