Se habla de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México haciendo una breve semblanza, así como su expansión a partir de unidades periféricas, dentro de las cuales se describe específicamente a la Facultad de Estudios Superiores Zaragoza, campo dentro del cual se realizó esta investigación. Por último se habla de las carreras de Psicología y Enfermería motivo de este estudio, pues las mismas conforman campos específicos con sus formas de organización, normas y hábitus propios
