Abstract

This paper titled "Evaluation of Ceramic Filters to Improve Quality Of water for human consumption in the San mateo sector, Moyobamba, 2015 ", developed In the scope of the province of Moyobamba, being the objective Evaluate the filters Ceramics to improve the quality of water for human consumption in the San Mateo Sector, Performing water quality analysis before and after filtration, in the laboratory Of EPS- Moyobamba. The first filters were made in the form of compact discs with different Clay and sawdust and activated charcoal, and then to create filters with the Proportions suitable for their best handling and aesthetics. In order to reach To elaborate the filters with different rates of filtration has followed an experimental plan From sample collection, mixing and drying, grinding, grinding and sieving, Manufacture of compact discs and container-shaped filter, calcination and Sintering, and water quality analysis. The type of research is applied and explanatory, it was taken several samples from the source Rumiyacu on sunny days and clear sky, the sampling point being the capture Of which the EPS-Moyobamba supplies the city of Moyobamba. The parameters a Microbiological, parasitological and organoleptic quality, indicators; Total coliforms, thermotolerant or faecal coliforms, escherichia coli, Color, turbidity, pH, conductivity (25 ° C), total dissolved solids, chlorides, sulfates, Total hardness, ammonia, iron, manganese, aluminum, copper, zinc, sodium, these being Dependent variables and as independent variables, clay, sawdust, colloidal silver, Retention time, removal of contaminants. As a result, the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1) and rejection of the Null hypothesis (Ho) which entails the validation of the hypothesis of the work of Investigation, being the most outstanding point of the ceramic filters, the removal of Turbidity, pH, dissolved solids, conductivity (25 ° C), among other parameters, Emphasizing mainly in the reduction of the turbidity of 10 UNT to 1.61 UNT, Reaching up to more than 100% efficiency.
