Sarcophaginae in Taiwan (Diptera: Sarcophagidae)

Abstract

The subfamily Sarcophaginae (Diptera: Sarcophagidae) in Taiwan is revised and a taxonomic key to the male fly is added. Forty two species are recorded from Taiwan. Among them four are new to science and nine are new records from Taiwan. Four new species, Sarcophaga fenchihuensis, S. lini,S. membranocorporis and S .tsengi, are described. Sarcophaga tristylata BOETTCHER is redescribed here because BOETTCHER's original description (1912) was insufficient and no one has redescribed this species until now.
