Re-examining the crab-shaped anomura in the collections of the Zoological Laboratory, Kyushu University, we found that the following two species, Petrolisthes amakmelzsis sp. nov. and Petyolisthes carinipes (Heller), are perhaps new to the fauna of Japan, so far as we know. P. nmakusensis has been overlooked, because it inhabits with P. coccizzeus (Owen) and the external appearance also resembles P. coccineus. P. cnuhipes is a rare species and was collected from Okinawa-jima, the Ryukyu Islands. This species has hitherto reported from the Red Sea and India. We wish to express our thanks to Dr. T. A.
