Abstract

O presente trabalho de investigação centra-se na temática “Comunicação com o doente em fase terminal” Sendo a Enfermagem a profissão que na área da saúde permanece mais tempo junto dos doentes e na qual a comunicação assume um papel preponderante. Os doentes em fase terminal são doentes que necessitam de maiores necessidades comunicacionais, uma vez que a sua situação de doença consequentemente fim de vida se avizinha num futuro próximo. Os objectivos deste estudo são identificar a importância atribuída aos diferentes aspectos da comunicação dos alunos do 4º ano do Curso de Licenciatura em Enfermagem acerca dos diferentes aspectos da comunicação com o doente em fase terminal; conhecer a percepção dos alunos do Curso de Licenciatura em Enfermagem sobre as barreiras à comunicação com o doente em fase terminal e conhecer as estratégias de coping utilizadas pelos alunos do 4ºano do Curso de Licenciatura em Enfermagem para ultrapassar as barreiras da comunicação com o doente em fase terminal. Optou-se por um estudo tipo descritivo, exploratório e transversal inserido no paradigma quantitativo e realizado em meio natural. Através do estudo, concluiu-se que os alunos têm dificuldades na comunicação com o doente em fase terminal. This research work focuses on the theme "Communication with the terminally ill"Nursing is a profession in health care remains more time with patients and in which communication plays a central role. The sick and terminally ill patients who are need more communication needs, since heir disease situation therefore is approaching end of life in the near future. The objectives of this study are to identify the importance given to different aspects of communication between students of the 4th year of the Degree Course in Nursing on the different aspects of communication with the terminally ill, to know the students' perception of the Degree Course in Nursing on barriers to communication with the terminally ill and learn coping strategies used by students in the 4th year of the Degree Course in Nursing to overcome the barriers of communication with the terminally ill. We chose to study a descriptive, exploratory and cross-entered in the quantitative paradigm and performed in the natural environment. Through the study, concluded that students have difficulties in communicating with the terminally ill.
