To study the possibility of using laser interferometry in prediction of visual acuity in children after cataract surgery. Until now this method has been used only in adults. In the literature no papers were found about prediction of visual acuity in children.Laser interferometry was performed before surgery in 27 eyes of children aged 6-15 and the results were compared with visual acuity after cataract extraction with IOL implantation.Laser interferometry is of limited value in pediatric patients.
