
Not only by coincidence surgeons tend to qualify a patients stress by physical factors only. In plastic surgery the psychological situation of the patient very often is paramount, especially in surgery dealing with function of appearance. Sometimes the declared motives of the patient hide emotional disorders. Irrealistic expectations are confronted with results. The text aims at a short typology of physiological stress in plastic surgical patients and its somatic consequences.
