Surgical reconstruction of the atrophic maxilla.

Abstract

This article illustrates a technique for the surgical treatment of the patient with an atrophic maxilla. It encompasses the diagnostic evaluation using clinical and radiographic techniques, the placement of autogenous bone grafts in the premaxilla, and subantral augmentation in the posterior maxilla. This procedure will allow the placement of implants of proper length, position, and angulation, ensuring the completion of a functional dental prosthesis.
