
A case of limbic encephalitis diagnosed in a 56-year-old man with small-cell lung cancer is reported. Death occurred after 6 1/2 months due to cardiorespiratory insufficiency. Psychopathology, course and diagnostic findings of the syndrome are described, and pathogenetic hypotheses are discussed.
